I had hunted that field several times before, but only with the new MarsMD Tiger 14 kHz coil I succeeded to make such finds!
As soon as the coin was washed, it became clear that it was a Gordian III Silver Antoninianus! At first glance it looks like a denarius coin, but the distinctive feature is that the portrait of the emperor on a denarius is wearing a laurel wreath, whereas the one on Antoninianus is with a radiant crown!
